Eleven days have passed since 10 inmates escaped from the Orleans Justice Center in a bold and alarming breach. While eight men are now back in custody, the remaining two fugitives have not been located -- despite sweeping arrests, public pressure, and a statewide response that includes the governor, attorney general, and FBI.
A sixth inmate who escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center on Friday, May 16 has been captured, according to Attorney General Liz Murril.
Lenton Vanburen was taken into custody on Monday in Baton Rouge. He is one of ten inmates who broke out of the facility.
The other five escapees who have been captured are Corey Boyd, Gary Price, Kendell Myles, Robert Moody, and Dkenan Dennis. Two men who escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center on Friday, May 16, were captured in Texas on Monday, according to the Louisiana State Police.
LSP says Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald were arrested in Walker County, Texas, by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
