Description
A named storm will likely form in the Caribbean within the next day or so. The storm would linger in the western Caribbean through the weekend as it grows stronger. Models do show the potential for a hurricane and perhaps even a major storm.
The storm will be trapped under a ridge of high pressure until early next week. As a large trough of low pressure moves across the United States, the ridge will weaken and the storm could move north into the southern Gulf by the early part of next week. If a storm moves into the Gulf it would then start to turn northeast toward Florida. It's still too early on to say for sure how this play out, but Florida needs to watch this very closely. The next name is Sara.
