The National Hurricane Center has issued some watches and warnings for Florida and put out its first official track for a system expected to develop in the Gulf.
Invest 97 L has now become Potential Tropical Cyclone 4 near Cuba as it will bring big impacts to Florida and the Southeast US this weekend into the middle of next week. PTC 4 may strengthen to a tropical storm this weekend and if so it will get the name Debby. Heavy rain, some flooding, gusty winds, and storm surge of 1 to 3 feet is expected from roughly north of Tampa to Key Largo. Heavy rain will continue into parts of Georgia and the Carolinas through the middle of next week.
