Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says Beryl will continue on a path this weekend toward south Texas or northern Mexico Slowly weakening, Hurricane Beryl is no longer a major hurricane, becoming a category 2 with the 1 pm advisory as the winds had dropped to 110 mph. Further weakening is expected as it approaches and then moves across Yucatan. Once back over water, there is a chance for some restrengthening back to a hurricane before its final landfall in northern Mexico or southern Texas late Sunday or Monday. No impacts are expected here
