Description
Powerful Hurricane Beryl heads toward the Yucatan after devastating Jamaica.
Hurricane Beryl will impact the Cayman Islands on Thursday with heavy rain, strong wind, and storm surge. By Friday, Beryl is forecast to weaken a bit, though it'll still be a powerful hurricane as it reaches the Yucatan. Land interaction with the Yucatan should force Beryl to weaken down eve more to a tropical storm while it enters the southern Gulf of Mexico this weekend. It's possible it will regain some strength over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and the official forecast does re-strengthen Beryl to a Category 1 before landfall in either northeast Mexico or southern Texas by Monday. No local impacts are expected for the central and eastern Gulf Coast.
