Description
Beryl began a slow weakening trend on Tuesday although it is still a major Category 4 hurricane churning across the Caribbean Sea on Wednesday. It will impact Jamaica Wednesday afternoon and then the Cayman Islands followed by Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula by Friday.
Weakening should continue with Beryl through this weekend, so it may be a low-end hurricane or tropical storm when it reaches the southwestern Gulf of Mexico this weekend. An upper high-pressure ridge over the southeast US should keep Beryl on a track into northern Mexico or southern Texas. Its eventual landfall would be late this weekend or early next week as a much weaker system than it is now.Meteorolo
