WWL Louisiana meteorologist Payton Malone with an 'Eye on the Tropics' and thorough look at 3 developments currently tracking. A broad surface trough, Invest 94, in the western Caribbean has a low chance for development as it moves toward the Yucatan. It could reach the Bay of Campeche on Saturday, but models maintain it will move into eastern Mexico. Invest 95 in the central Atlantic now has been tagged with a high chance for development into a depression or storm as it continues toward the Lesser Antilles. It could reach the eastern Caribbean by Monday, where it continues westward. If the upper ridging dominates not only across the SE US but also across the Gulf and into the Atlantic, this system will continue more west than north and perhaps remain out of the Gulf altogether. Still far too soon to begin speculating and we have plenty of time to watch.
