Description
Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford has the forecast at 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
A fairly typical summer weather pattern is ahead this week with heat and a few daily thunderstorms. On Monday, a heat advisory will be in effect for heat indices near 110. We'll also have a few showers and storms in the afternoon which should help with the heat in spots.
The chance of rain will stay near 30 percent through midweek, so you can expect a few spotty showers and thunderstorms in the afternoons. Where it's not raining, it will feel hot and humid with heat indices approaching 105 or even 110 in spots.
At the end of the week, we'll have a little higher chance of getting those afternoon storms. This will happen as a trough of low-pressure sinks to our east and a big high-pressure area skirts away from us to the west.
Next weekend brings near-average heat and a decent chance of scattered rain, mainly in the afternoons.
