WWL Louisiana meteorologist Alexa Trischler gives an update on former Tropical Storm Alberto, now a tropical depression, and its impact on Louisiana coastal areas. Alberto made landfall Thursday morning in northern Mexico near Tampico. The storm will move inland Thursday and continue to dump heavy rain, mainly over mountainous areas. It has weakened to a tropical depression. Invest 92 is currently sitting east of the Bahamas. This disturbance has a low chance of becoming a short-lived storm as it nears northern Florida/Georgia by Friday. Another area of moisture is set to enter the SW Gulf (again) by this weekend. The National Hurricane Center does give this a chance of becoming another weak tropical storm. It would likely take a very similar path as Alberto. We don't expect major impacts from this on the northern Gulf Coast. Next name is Beryl.
