Description
Our Gulf system remains PTC 1 as there is a large circulation, but not the closed surface low required to be classified as a Tropical Storm. We have not seen any change in the forecast. It will make an eventual track toward the east coast of Mexico, moving inland early Thursday.
More of a heavy rain event than wind or surge. The NHC is forecasting that it will become our first named storm, likely only a tropical storm, before landfall. First up is Alberto. As it becomes better organized, it will draw much of the tropical moisture spread out across the western, northern, and central Gulf toward itself. Offshore winds will remain high into Wednesday and some minor coastal flooding is possible here, mainly at high tides. Small Craft Advisory is in effect through early Thursday for us.
