Description
A new installation at the St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services is hoping to bring comfort to families who have lost their furry companions.
“It’s very peaceful,” said Assistant Director Penny Brunies. “You can come out here and just sit and remember your pet.”
The new space is called the Rainbow Bridge, and it was donated by the charity organizations Scott’s Wish and Mardi Paws.
Denise Gutnisky of Mardi Paws says the concept is simple. It was inspired by a poem about pets who have passed on and crossed the rainbow bridge.
