The New Orleans Police Department says a person was shot and killed in the French Quarter Sunday night. Police say the shooting happened in the 500 block of Bienville Street around 8:30 p.m. The victim was shot at least once. EMS pronounced the person dead at the scene. One suspect was detained for questioning, according to NOPD. Witnesses told WWL Louisiana that they heard between 2-3 gunshots nearby. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
