Description
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for a murder suspect who pepper sprayed a deputy and drove off in her marked car as he was being transported from the hospital to the correctional center Sunday. Sheriff Joseph Lopinto says 51-year-old Leon Ruffin escaped Sunday while in the parking lot at Ochsner Westbank. The stolen deputy unit was found abandoned in Algiers around 9:30 p.m.
