Description
Lee became a category 5 last night, but within 12 hours, wind shear seems to have slightly weakened the storm back to a 4. Satellite presentation of the eye isn't showing up nearly as well defined as it was yesterday. The forward motion to the WNW will continue as Lee moves along the southern part of a subtropical high. As the high weakens, the storm is expected to slow down though the weekend and early next week. It won't be until we start to see a deepening trough across the OH valley and East coast that Lee will begin moving northward. Long-range model guidance maintains it will remain off the East coast.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says don't expect much to happen with Lee over the weekend
