Description
The Nolatoya Recall campaign is filing suit against the Orleans Parish Registrar over more than 30,000 voters listed on the voting rolls for the parish that they say should be removed or at a minimum, investigated more closely.
The campaign claims in a court filing that more than 30,000 listed voters in the parish have either moved out of the state or to another parish within the state.
In addition, they say that more than 500 people who are deceased are still listed as active voters.
"What we are asking in this mandamus is for the judge to order the registrar of voters in Orleans Parish to give the recall effort an accurate number of active registered voters," said Eileen Carter, a representative for the recall effort.
