Description
The New Orleans Police Department says an argument between an employee of a gas station convenience store and a customer led to a fatal shooting Thursday morning.
The victim was shot dead inside the store in the 5100 block of St. Claude Avenue. EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene.
Police say they arrested 34-year-old James Spriggens on a count of second-degree murder. They credited help from people who were at the station with the quick arrest.
"This case was cleared with a quick response from Fifth District officers and information from citizens," said Captain Ryan Lubrano, the department's homicide commander.
