Tropical Storm Karl has strengthened and is mostly drifting but is expected to take a turn to the south. Tropical Storm Karl is in the southwest Gulf of Mexico. It could strengthen slightly in the next day or so before the upper steering pattern forces it southward into Mexico late Friday. It should dissipate by Saturday. A cold front and increasing wind shear over the northern and central Gulf will protect our area from any impacts.
