Julia is expected to become a hurricane later today before making landfall in Nicaragua early Sunday morning. Tropical Storm Julia remains the only named storm in the tropics. This system is expected to continue to strengthen and become a category one hurricane as it closes in on Nicaragua. It'll continue to weaken once on land but it will continue to bring strong gusty winds and heavy rain to parts of central America through early next week.
