Description
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin has a look at Invest 91 and explains why it isn't a threat to the Gulf.
Tropical Depression 12 is not forecast to become a storm and will likely dissipate tonight or early Thursday.
Invest 91 is in the southeastern Caribbean near the coast of Venezuela. Hurricane Hunters could not find a closed circulation today though thunderstorm development continues. NHC does have a high chance for development at some point as it moves westward across the southern Caribbean. Model guidance has been consistent with the westerly motion to continue as it approaches central America late this weekend or early next week. An upper high to its north will keep it along this westerly path and block it from the Gulf of Mexico.
