There are no named storms in the Atlantic basin, but the National Hurricane Center is watching two tropical waves in the Atlantic Ocean. Invest 92 is in the eastern Atlantic with a high chance for development. It doesn't appear to threaten land even in the long-range models. Upper-level winds will likely disrupt it by this weekend, so if it does develop it will be short-lived. The next name on the list is Julia. Invest 91 is in the Atlantic outside the Windward Islands and will head west into the southern Caribbean by this weekend. Models are not very aggressive with development and most keep the system moving westward eventually toward Central America. A ridge of high pressure to its north will likely block it from getting anywhere near our area. We continue with no tropical threats for the next week or longer.
