Hurricane Ian rushed ashore in south Florida Wednesday and it still will cause havoc for another day or so. Hurricane Ian has made landfall along the southwestern coast near Cayo Costa, FL at 3:05 pm EST as a strong Category 4 hurricane. It'll continue to bring life-threatening storm surge along the southwestern coast of Florida through today. Flooding rain will also become an issue for areas across Central Florida where some spots could pick up 15 inches of rain as it moves inland tonight. With the current forecast, the Tampa area would miss the worst surge, but rain and gusty winds will still be apparent north of the eye.
