Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says there was another shift in models and storms are finally developing around Invest 98. Invest 98 may be showing some signs at the surface of an attempt to form a closed circulation, although winds do not support a depression or storm yet. Still fighting dry air and wind shear, which is expected to relax and allow for better development. The model guidance for a trajectory into the weekend is in agreement generally WNW then W with an upper high to the north. The western extent of this high will then be a major factor in where the storm turns north and ultimately enters the Gulf.
