Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin has the Monday evening tropical update and says there are 2 areas to watch coming off of Africa but right now, neither looks like it will be much of a factor. This week marks the peak of hurricane season on average, but we have zero active systems in the Atlantic basin. The National Hurricane Center is highlighting two areas in the Atlantic. One is just coming off the coast of Africa and another is a little further ahead and heading toward the Caribbean Islands. It'll have much of this week to reach the islands, so we have plenty of time to watch it. We continue with no tropical threats to the Gulf Coast for the next week or longer.
