Meteorologist Payton Malone says in the Friday 10AM tropical update that Hurricane Danielle has formed and there are 2 other spots to watch. Danielle has strengthened into a category one hurricane with winds of 75 mph. It is forecast to strengthen this weekend into a category 2 storm. It is currently nearly 900 miles from the Azores islands in the northern Atlantic and poses no threat to land. Two other areas being highlighted by the NHC for potential development in the coming days, also not a threat to the US! Invest 91 has been struggling with wind shear and dry air and while models do curve before reaching the US Easy coast, the GFS and Euro differ as to when that will occur. Currently has a high change for development.
