The tropics are slowly beginning to wake up as we continue to watch two tropical waves. The tropics are slowly beginning to wake up as we continue to watch two tropical waves. There are no immediate threats to the Gulf Coast at the moment but the tropical wave that's slowly moving into the Caribbean, we'll have to keep a close eye on it. This area has a low chance of tropical development over the next 5 days and if it develops, it's going to take it's time. It's surrounded by dry air so we're expecting slow development. By next week midweek some tropical formation is expected. Long-range models are not in agreement as to if it'll head into the Gulf or not. We'll continue to monitor.
