This is stock footage of Mission Beach in San Diego on June 30, 1954. Volleyball players, swimmers, and sunbathers enjoyed what looked like a perfect day at the iconic beach. A bonus shot at the end is downtown -- The San Diego Club and the Optimist Club. Other stock footage was shot that day and there are no scripts so it's likely the newscast was canceled and photographers were sent out to gather generic film.
