A large-scale fire has swept through almost 2,000 hectares of vegetation in the south of France, near Narbonne (Aude), leading to the closure of a motorway linking France to Spain and the evacuation of local residents. "It's the first time I've seen a forest fire live, and I had no idea it was so impressive," says Cedric, a Belgian holidaymaker sheltering in a gymnasium in Sigean.
