"I am well aware of the efforts you are making - to fully implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701", says Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides after meeting his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. Resolution 1701 requires that UN peacekeepers and the Lebanese army be the only armed organisations in southern Lebanon.
