Mexican soldiers destroy weapons that had been turned in by civilians in exchange for money, during an event held in the atrium of the Basilica of Guadalupe to mark the International Day against the Proliferation of Firearms. The exchange is part of a government disarmament program launched in January, which chose churches as the places to turn in weapons.
