Description
China says that "arbitrary" tariffs such as the 50 percent levy on copper announced by US President Donald Trump on national security grounds "serve no party's interests".
"We have always opposed the overstretching of the concept of national security," foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning tells a regular news conference.
She added that authorities were looking into the case of a Chinese father and son detained by Ukraine for allegedly trying to smuggle navy missile technology out of the war-torn country. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
