Description
Emerson Colindres had just graduated from high school in Cincinnati when he was deported from the United States. Now, he attemps to adapt back to his native Honduras, which he left when he was just eight years old.
"It's difficult to adapt because I am not used to the place where I am from, this town [Marcovia]. I am used to another place [Cincinnati], so it's difficult, but I have to adapt," he tells AFP as he waits at the Palmerola airport in Honduras for his mother and his sister to arrive.
His mother Ada Bell Baquedano and his 16-year-old sister Alison decided to self-deport to Honduras to be with Colindres.
"We will start a new life, start from scratch, because of the way it [her son's deportation] happened, we didn't have time to prepare, because no one is ready for this moment," says Baquedano as she prepares for a new chapter in Honduras with her family. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
