Description
Jorge Rodriguez, Venezuela's chief negotiator and Chavismo's campaign chief, says the Maduro government is holding daily talks with officials from the Trump administration over the release of Venezuelan migrants detained in El Salvador.
"Every day we are proposing ways to get our children back and to bring home our 252 kidnapped Venezuelans," says Rodriguez.
These 252 Venezuelans are accused, without evidence, of being part of the criminal gang Tren de Aragua. The Venezuelan government is also demanding the return of 18 children it claims were separated from their parents during deportation proceedings.
Speaking at a press conference launching Chavismo's campaign for the upcoming July 27 mayoral elections, Jorge Rodriguez also underlines their "immediate tactical objective" to win "all 335 mayoralties." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
