"We have been surrounded for 10 days, unable to leave or come back -- anyone who wanted to go out risked gunfire and clashes," says Fatima Abdel-Qader, a Bedouin leaving the Druze-majority city of Sweida on foot, following a week of sectarian bloodshed. The 52-year-old woman, who evacuated Sweida with her three children and two grandchildren, has taken refuge at a reception centre in the neighbouring Daraa province. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
