As the first wave of detainees arrested on drug-trafficking charges are sent to the Vendin-le-Vieil Penitentiary Center in northern France, one of the most secure prisons in France, prison guard David Lacroix describes the new restrictions, which will be imposed on the 17 drug traffickers. "They are subject to mandatory searches after each contact with the outside world", he says.
