Description
Newly unsealed records from the Bryan Kohberger case reveal bodycam video of him being pulled over by the Latah County Sheriff's Office months before he murdered four University of Idaho students.
Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison last week for the murders that occurred on Nov. 13, 2022, when Kohberger killed roommates Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin at their off-campus home in Moscow.
The newly released documents include a traffic stop video involving a sheriff's deputy and Kohberger on Aug. 21, 2022, months before he would commit the murders.
In the video, a deputy pulled over Kohberger for speeding and during the traffic stop, Kohberger was driving a white Hyundai Elantra, the same vehicle investigators asked the public to help identify in the days following the murders. On the same day, investigators later determined his phone pinged near the King Road house where the murders would eventually take place.
The deputy warned Kohberger for speeding and issued him a citation for not wearing a seatbelt during the August encounter. More documents are expected to be released related to the case.
