Description
Passengers and crew members were evacuated from a plane at Denver International Airport on July 26, 2025, due to a problem with the aircraft's landing gear.
DIA shared on social media Saturday afternoon that airport first responders and the Denver Fire Department responded to a "reported issue" on an American Airlines flight. The fire department said it put out a fire after responding.
The airline said flight 3023 to Miami experienced a "maintenance issue" involving an aircraft tire prior to takeoff. All passengers and crew deplaned safely, according to the airline, and the plane was taken out of service to be inspected by a maintenance team.
"About halfway to takeoff speed, we hear a big bang and a pop," said Shaun Williams, a passenger traveling with his family. "The pilot immediately started abort procedures for taking off. You could feel him start to hit the brakes."
