Description
Eleven adults and three children are displaced after an apartment fire on Indianapolis' east side over the weekend.
The Indianapolis Fire Department said crews responded around 6 p.m. Saturday, June 7 to Spanish Oaks Apartments, located in the 3600 block of Governours Lane, near 38th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, after heavy fire broke out in an upstairs apartment.
Fire investigators ruled the fire accidental, with unattended food on the stove to blame, IFD said.
