Description
A 10TV Weather Impact Alert has been issued for Sunday to Wednesday for the extreme heat.
Hot and humid conditions are expected across Ohio over the next several days as high temperatures reach the 90s, and heat index values climb over 100.
The National Weather Service has issued a "Heat Advisory" for most of Central Ohio, and an "Extreme Heat Warning" for far southeast and northwest Ohio where humidity levels will be higher.
Expect plenty of sunshine with high temperatures reaching the mid 90s during the afternoon, but will feel like its near or over 100. It's quite possible that we could tie or break a record high today or tomorrow in Columbus!
The best time to be outside the next several days will be in the morning during the couple of hours following sunrise — 6-8 a.m.
In addition to the intense heat this week, the UV index will be very high as well. If possible, stay in the shade to minimize the threat for sunburn and heat exhaustion and if you are out in the sun, remember to apply sunscreen and wear a hat.
The heat is expected to continue into the end of the week and next weekend, but there may be some relief as storm chances return, which may help to cool things off Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. And this will be followed by more unsettled weather and some slightly cooler air arriving by the end of the weekend and into the following week.
