July 2 on The Story: Last November marked Portland's first election using ranked-choice voting. For some voters, the run-up to the election was full of questions and concerns — especially about the city council races, which used a multi-winner method of RCV called "single transferrable vote." So a research lab at Cornell University looked into the data from the election, trying to determine if any of those concerns were borne out by the election outcomes. We'll walk through what they found.
