Description
June 23 on The Story: Well before the 2025 long legislative session began, Oregon leaders had identified funding for the state's chronically overextended transportation system as one of the biggest priorities to accomplish. Despite that, passing the bill is coming down to the wire, and it's not entirely clear if Democrats' supermajorities are united enough to get it done. That really came to a head Friday and into today, beginning when Senate President Rob Wagner replaced a fellow Democrat on a key committee because he wouldn't vote to forward the bill. Today, Wagner removed both himself and one of the committee's Democratic co-chairs after a spicy exchange with a Republican lawmaker which prompted the minority party to threaten a boycott.
