Description
Indianapolis Public Schools has offered pre-K for free in recent years — that is until now.
In an announcement made Tuesday, June 3, IPS said they will start charging for pre-K in the 2025-26 school year.
IPS was able to offer pre-K for free through a combination of state funded On My Way pre-K vouchers and the district's own financial investment. However, school officials said recent changes at the state level to On My Way pre-K funding has resulted in "significant cuts to the funding stream" for their pre-K programming.
