One person was injured after their car was struck by a train on Indy's near east side Saturday afternoon. According to IMPD, shortly before 3 p.m. on May 31, officers were called to the 3000 block of Massachusetts Avenue, which is near North Rural Street and Interstate 70, on a report of a personal injury accident. When officers arrived, they found a train and a passenger car had collided. The driver of the car was taken to an area hospital and is said to be "awake and breathing."
