Denver Animal Shelter (DAS) said Wednesday it is seeing an increase in the number of "extremely emaciated animals" coming through its doors.
Denver Animal Shelter said it has investigated 83 cases of neglect due to weight in domestic animals, such as dogs and cats, through the beginning of June. That is about 30% higher than the same period in 2024, the shelter said.
