Description
A 21-year-old Seattle man is accused of breaking into the homes of several professional athletes and stealing items totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars, detailed in new charges filed Friday.
Documents also state the man is tied to the suspects in a triple murder outside a Seattle nightclub.
Earl Henderson Riley IV is charged with four counts of residential burglary and one count of first-degree robbery, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
He allegedly raided the homes and stole from Seattle Mariners centerfielder Julio Rodriguez, Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo, Seattle Seahawks legend Richard Sherman and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell.
Many of the items stolen from the athletes’ homes were found where Riley lives or recovered from family members, who said the items were gifts. Cellphone data placed Riley’s phone near each of the homes at the time of the burglaries, which span from February to May.
