Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall overnight near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, early Sunday morning, the National Hurricane Center announced.
As of 5 a.m. Sunday, Chantal is continuing to move toward the north-northwest. The storm was about 75 miles (120 kilometers) east of Charleston and 85 miles (136 kilometers) southwest of Wilmington, North Carolina.
