Description
Eyes are on the Gulf and Atlantic coasts this week as the National Hurricane Center monitors a broad area of low pressure that could slowly form near Florida's Gulf Coast or southeastern U.S. Atlantic coast heading into the July 4th holiday weekend.
This system is linked to a remnant frontal boundary and currently has a medium (40%) chance of development in the next 7 days, according to the NHC. Whether it becomes something named or not (the next name on the list is Chantal), this system is expected to tap into deep tropical moisture — and that means it’s likely to bring periods of heavy rain to Florida. https://www.wtsp.com/article/weather/weather-impact/tampa-weather-rain-tropics-july-4th/67-d765a540-c59f-4eab-bdf1-f9c4c835bc6b
