Description
Twelve assisted dying activists are currently on trial in Paris, accused of helping people—both sick and healthy—obtain barbiturates to end their lives. From the defendant's bench, Bernard Senet, a doctor and activist, stated, "I am calm because I do not feel guilty for having done very serious things." For his lawyer, Me Arnaud Lévy-Soussan, the trial is a crucial opportunity to get the Court of Cassation to rule on "this point, which is a fundamental issue in terms of public freedom."
