Brazil's Chamber of Deputies approved on Wednesday an emergency motion to process an amnesty bill that could cover former president Jair Bolsonaro, sentenced last week to 27 years in prison for attempting a coup d'état. The bill, aimed from the beginning at a pardon for the Bolsonaristas convicted of the January 8, 2023, assault in Brasilia, has been the priority of Bolsonaro's party in this legislature.
