Description
Mayo College in India's Rajastan is nicknamed the "Eton of the East" with its sprawling grounds and exceptional facilities. Once reserved for princes, the school now educates a new elite with tuition fees running to around $11,500 a year -- a fortune in a country where annual per capita income is about $2,300. For many families, the cost is justified. "Everything can be attributed to my days here and how it has shaped me," says Mayo alumnus Abhishek Singh Tak, who runs an events company in Jodhpur and sends his two sons to the school.
