Thousands of people join the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, in walking along a partially pedestrianised Oxford Street as part of a promotion to ban vehicles from the road permanently. Pedestrianising one of London's busiest thoroughfares has been discussed for many years. Private vehicles are not permitted along the street, but a number of bus routes and many taxis use the street daily. "I think if it's exceptional, it's ok, but all time is not so," says Ayoub Gebabli, who is visiting London as a tourist, while London resident Adnar Hassan believes "it's actually a very good idea."
